Lead Lined Frame & Door Designs

Lead provides radiation protection. Typical uses are in X-ray rooms of doctors, dentists, and chiropractic offices as well as hospitals. In addition to the details below, borrowed lites, 2-piece slip frame windows, and pocket frames can all be lead-lined.

Lead Lined Frame/Door

  • Lead lined frames are typically supplied with 1⁄16″ thick lead.
  • The lead shall be formed into the profile of the frame on the door side rabbet and stop.
  • Borrowed Lite frames have the glazing bead shipped loose
  • UL Label available.

Vertically Steel Stiffened Doors

  • Lead thicknesses available:

      • Up to 3′-0″ x 7′-0″
  • Lead is in the center of the door.
  • Door ribs: high hat style.

Vision Lite Kits for Lead Lined Doors

  • Available for ¼” and ½” leaded glass
  • All vision lites for lead lined doors have screws on the push side of the door.
